ALA Annual 2015

AC15_Speaking_250x124Hi all!  Just wanted to do a short post to let you know where and when I’ll be at ALA Annual in San Francisco in two weeks.

In addition to just running into you in the halls, the parties, and the exhibits, I am part of four events:

What is a Consultant, Really? Saturday, June 27, 2015 – 10:30am to 11:30am, Moscone 131 North
This informal panel of consultants explains how consultants really work, what we can really do for you, and how many different things we do.  There will be tips on when to hire a consultant and when not to. We will also talk about how to be a consultant/independent librarian if you are thinking about it.  I am being joined by Crystal Schimpf of Kixal and Yolanda Cuesta of Multicultural Consulting.

LearnRT Training Showcase Saturday, June 27, 2015 – 1:00pm to 2:30pm, Moscone 133 North
I will be exhibiting at this awesome showcase of trainers from all over the country.  Some are presenting their favorite projects and others, like me, are talking about how we can help you out with your library’s training/continuing education programs.  I myself will be focusing on my do-it-yourself continuing education programs.

Everything you Wanted to Know About Consulting and Were Afraid to Ask Sunday, June 28, 2015 – 1:00pm to 2:00pm, Moscone, 3000 West
A casual meeting of the Library Consultants Interest Group.  A chance to meet folks, make new friends, learn more about being a consultant, talk to other consultants, meet new consultants to hire.  We are trainers, techies, educators, consortia and state staff, as well as consultants.

And finally The Library Games: San Fran Edition Monday, June 29, 2015 – 4:30pm to 6:00pm, Moscone Esplanade 303
First there were the Olympic Games, then the Hunger Games became all the rage. Combine the two and you get The Library Games! Four brave teams of librarians competing in several fast-paced, cut-throat events to take home the trophy and be crowned the champions of libraryland. Audience participation and voting will be crucial to the outcome, so make sure you are there to witness history in the making.

In addition I will be scheduling meetings and open times in the Networking UnCommons. If you would like to schedule a meeting to talk about training or just to chat, please contact me.  I can’t wait to see you!!
